Our period plays this year will be :
Shakespeare's Famous Fights, directed by Tom Plott. This show will feature, as you can imagine, famous scenes involving stage combat.
and a new play by Mike Field based on the Italian epic poem, Orlando Furioso directed by John Sadowsky. All roles are currently open for this production. While we encourage all talented actors of varying age ranges to audition, we are especially seeking males ages 21 - 30 who are experienced actors as well as comfortable with movement and stage combat. Also, looking for an Asian-American female lead, age 21 - early 30s.
We are looking for experienced actor/combatants for the Festival's new program "Fight Corps", These actor/combatants must have both training and performance stage combat experience. Actors must be physically fit and injury free. These actors will perform in Shakespeare's Famous Fights and other productions throughout the festival day. The audition date for this program is also May 11th. When submitting your picture and resume, please note that you wish to be considered for Fight Corps.
The Company of the Rose:Actors over the age of 18 to perform in both scripted and improvisational events. These actors portray the villagers of Revel Grove and nobles from the Court of King Henry VIII. In addition to their historical characters, actors can take part in children’s theatre, Shakespeare and other period plays. This season, the year portrayed is 1520.
The Company of the Rose - 'B' Contract:There is no improvisational work involved with this contract. B contracts are traditionally extended only for leading roles in our Shakespeare or other period plays.
General festival rehearsals - which include improvisation and original plays. Expect a minimum of 3 rehearsals per week. The more stage shows you do, the more rehearsals you can expect.
Rehearsal Times:Rehearsals can be scheduled the following: Monday through Thursday evenings beginning at 7:30pm. Saturdays and Sundays from 9:30am to 5pm. There are no Friday evening rehearsals.
Performance Dates:Saturdays, Sundays and Labor Day Monday from August 24 to October 20, 2013. Performances are 10am- 7pm. Actors must be available for all 19 performance dates.
