Taking texts from poetry and literary works from the Middle Ages through to the Renaissance and adding their own original compositions, the Baebes have created haunting and unforgettable music which has garnered them legions of fans in Europe, Canada, the United States, and beyond.

Avon Faire
Sharing the Blackfriars stage with the Baebes will be the New York group, Avon Faire .  This will be the first MDRF appearance for the group that features three part harmony vocal arrangements of traditional Celtic and English folk songs. Help us celebrate the legacy of the greatest playwright of the English language! Don't miss our one hour production of Shakespeare's Henry VIII, as well as our popular STREETspeare program, where short scenes by the Bard and other Tudor writers are performed around the site.  And on the lighter side, don't miss Shakespeare's Skum's wacky parodies, including Tag team Romeo & Juliet (at the Globe). Plus, this weekend only, enjoy the Monologue Mash Up! Actors will perform their favorite Shakespearean monologues, and some of the audience members will also have the opportunity to trod the boards and perform their favorite sonnets or monologues.
